Wicks, Wicks, Wicks!

Our Clean Candle Refill Kits are designed to perfectly refill vessels 4 inches deep by 3 inches wide. But, we totally understand how many cute jars wider than 3” need refilling!

Before you order your kits online, take a look at the vessel you’re looking to refill and think about how many wicks you’ll need! It’s important to calculate the correct number of wicks because if you don’t have enough, or have too many, it could result in your wicks being drowned or your otherwise perfect candle may even start tunneling *gasp*

Don’t stress - we got ya covered! Here is an easy rule of thumb:

For every inch over 3” in diameter, add an additional wick! 

• (Example: Your mom just gave you the cutest old candle jar and it’s 4” - you need 2 wicks to candle-ify the jar!)

You can add however many additional wicks you need to your Everly order!

Wick Placement

Okay, so you’ve got your wicks - now it’s time to place them!

Wick placement can be SUPER important as they can completely change how your wick will burn! 

Try to space your wicks evenly within your vessel, ensuring that they aren’t too close together or to the sides of your vessel. When wicks are too close to the sides of your vessel, the material will begin to break down, which increases the chances of it breaking and spilling your beloved wax - yikes!

But we’ve got the perfect placement guide for you! For uniquely-shaped vessels, you may have to alter the pattern, but for traditional, round vessels, this guide should help!

For our more adventurous candle-makers that opt for 4+ wick candles, we recommend trimming the wick holders and taping them together in order to place two wicks next to each other!

Time for Wax!

You’ve got your wicks spaced perfectly - Now it’s time for wax baby!

You’re into the classics: SANTO: Palo Santo + Sage

You’re ready to try something different: TIERRA: Jasmine + Tonka Bean

You wish your house had a built-in rose garden: MAGIA: Grapefruit + Labdanum

You just want to chill the f out: CAMPO: Lavender + Vanilla

Once you’ve picked your scent, just ensure you’ve ordered enough wax! Our Clean Candle Refill Kits contain enough wax to fill a 10oz vessel - so you may want to consider getting a second bag of wax if your vessel is larger than 15oz. 

If you’ve used our Refill Kits before, you know how this part works: just microwave, pour, and wait!

The setting time for your candle may be longer than the 2-3 hours we recommend for single-wick 10oz vessels, but if you want to be extra careful, leave it overnight before burning!

Now you’re good to light your beautiful, unique, hand-made candle!

Candle Care + Safety

It’s important to remember that adding additional wicks to your candles means that they will produce more heat! When making multi-wick candles, opt for a heat-resistant vessel such as ceramic, sealed metal tins, or enamel. 

You can use glass when making a multi-wick candle but, just ensure that the vessel is made of durable tempered glass in order to prevent cracking or breaking!
